Kitchen Remodel in Pinellas County, Florida. 

This Pinellas County condo kitchen renovation began after hurricane-related flooding caused significant interior damage. The affected kitchen was completely rebuilt with new finishes, cabinetry, flooring, lighting and appliances to create a clean, modern and functional space.

 

The new kitchen features Craftsman-style shaker cabinetry, tile flooring, new countertops, a subway tile backsplash and integrated appliances, including a built-in microwave and oven. The cabinet layout was redesigned to improve storage and everyday usability while giving the kitchen a fully updated appearance.

Because the project involved storm-related water damage, the renovation was coordinated from damaged conditions through reconstruction and final finishes, resulting in a completely renewed kitchen.

Demolition & Site Preparation

The renovation began with removal of the flood-damaged materials, including a four-foot flood cut of the affected drywall, existing tile flooring, cabinets and other damaged finishes. Because the homeowner remained in the condo during construction, temporary ZipWall containment and plastic barriers were installed to help keep dust and debris out of the occupied living areas.

As part of the new kitchen layout, a portion of an existing wall was removed to open the space and create room for a new peninsula. Plumbing located within the removed wall was rerouted to accommodate the revised layout and new kitchen configuration.

Once demolition, containment and utility modifications were complete, the area was prepared for reconstruction, new cabinetry, flooring, plumbing, electrical work and final finishes.

Kitchen Remodel, Flooring, & Drywall

Following demolition and restoration work, the kitchen and surrounding living areas were rebuilt with new tile flooring, drywall repairs, texture matching and fresh interior paint. Damaged wall areas were repaired and blended with the existing finishes to create a consistent appearance throughout the remodeled space.

The new kitchen features Craftsman-style shaker cabinetry, a subway tile backsplash, under-cabinet lighting and a pot filler above the cooktop. The cabinet layout was designed around the existing window, with the countertop extending into the opening to create a clean, built-in window sill.

 

A built-in microwave and oven combination was incorporated into the cabinetry, along with new water supply lines for the refrigerator and coffee maker. The redesigned layout provides additional storage, improved functionality and a clean, finished appearance while completing the transformation of the hurricane-damaged condo kitchen.
